Researchers from the University of Central Lancashire have experience based on a previous study, by comparing brain samples from patients with Alzheimer's ten with ten samples from the brains of people who did not have the disease, the disease.
The analysis showed that periodontal bacteria called - Porphyromonas gingivalis - were present in brain samples of patients with Alzheimer's disease, but not in the brains of people who were not sampled patients with Alzheimer's disease. What was interesting is that Bakthrea usually coexist with chronic gum disease.
This study was supported by many other studies looking at the same subject.
